| The breeding of Pacific oysters Crassostra gigas, in non tidal ponds, before commercialization, brings about an improvement of the shell and of the quantity and quality of the tissues. In fact, the Berthome's indice (1978) moves from 1.36 in June to 0.68 December, and the density of the shell increases in the same time from 1.79 to 1.98. On the other hand, the percentage of tissues in the oyster is 12.4% at the end of gametogenesis and more than 9% at the end of breeding. The dry tissues are composed of 10.3 of ash, 40.3% of proteins, 12.6% of lipids and 9% of carbohydrate. 95% of the carbohydrate are glycogen. The resulting energetic values are measured to 5.10 cal-mg super(-1) of dry tissues ash free. |

| Le verdissement constitue le label de qualité des huîtres produites et affinées dans les claires de MARENNES-OLERON . Mais le phénomène se raréfiant depuis plusieurs années, la Section Régionale du C.I.C. de MARENNES- OLERON, grâce à une subvention du Conseil Général de la Charente Maritime a pu financer cette étude. La production d'huîtres vertes est liée à la multiplication dans les claires d'une diatomée: Navicula ostrearia. Celle-ci présente la particularité lorsqu'elle dégénère de se pigmenter. Ce pigment bleu appelé Marennine diffuse dans l'eau et est fixé au niveau des branchies et des palpes labiaux des huîtres... |

| Deuxième volet du programme d'essai d'acclimatation de l'huître américaine Crassostrea virginica, ce rapport présente les actions et les résultats de l'année 1993 qui a été consacrée au suivi des performances comparées de croissance des populations de C. gigas et C. virginica produites en 1992, ceci en trois sites différents: • dans le bassin de Marennes-Oléron en claire et sur estran, à la station IFREMER de Bouin en élevage intensif, au CREAA sur l'Ile d'Oléron en marais extensif. | The evolution of microbial biomass based on chlorophyll a, pheopigments, proteins, particulate carbon and nitrogen, ATP and total viable aerobic bacterias measurements, is studied on three oyster ponds in relation with different densities of reared oysters Crassostrea gigas (Thunberg). Chlorophyll a important amounts characteristics of theses middles (13 to 100µg.1(1) are in part consumed when the density of oysters is important, comparatively ATP increase to 30µg.1(1). With important values of (ATP/carbon) 10(3) ratios, upper than 10, we could think that the development of large silicified phytoplanktonic species should be favoured by oysters particularly the diatom Navicula ostrearia (Bory) |

| In 1979 and 1980, the characteristics of the particulate organic matter are defined fortnightly through seston analyses. It is very high in the basin and very low in the finishing ponds. The phytoplanktonic biomasses are maximal in May in the estuary, and in June-July in the finishing ponds, with chlorophyll contents 10 times higher than those monitored in the basin. Proteins are generally the main biochemical components found in both environments, with glucids accounting for 20 % and lipids for only 10 % of the biochemical components on average. The C/N ratios are almost constant in the finishing ponds with values around 5, typical of phytoplankton, whereas they are very high in the basin except in spring.
